In the June 2020 issue of the Fabricator, ADDere’s latest print, our massive rocket engine assembly is featured in a sidebar of an article about DED additive processes.
In this article, the Fabricator gives a general overview of Directed Energy Deposition technologies and capabilities, of which ADDere’s Laser Wire Additive Manufacturing process falls within. The article also features images of one of our cells fitted with the new coaxial laser head developed by Laser Mechanisms.
The sidebar of the article goes into detail on the merits of using DED additive processes for large-scale metal projects and explains those merits in terms of the benefits our customer saw going with ADDere over conventional subtractive processes or even Powder Bed Fusion (PBF) additive processes in making the large rocket assembly.
